One person was killed Thursday in a clash between two communities over a farmland dispute at Kumdi in the Kpandai District of the Northern Region. Reports say gunfire was exchanged during the confrontation, which has now drawn security personnel to the area to restore calm and prevent further violence.
According to a resident who spoke to reporters, the dispute over the farmland had previously been taken to court. “It is because of land for farming. The issue was even sent to court,” the resident said.
The circumstances surrounding the reported killing, as well as the identities of those involved, remain unclear at this time.
