Ghanaian social media personality Kobby Kyei said that a chance meeting with dancehall star Stonebwoy during a music‑video shoot led to an unexpected financial boost that helped him buy his first car.
After the shoot, Kyei recalled that Stonebwoy praised his online content and encouraged him to keep going. The two exchanged contact details, and Kyei later texted the artist to share his ambition to visit villages and support people living in deprived communities.
During a phone call, Kyei explained that the lack of a vehicle was a major hurdle to his outreach plans. Stonebwoy asked for his mobile‑money number and, before hanging up, transferred funds that Kyei used to purchase a car. “He said it was a contribution and that I would go far in what I was doing,” Kyei said.
The gesture, captured in a video posted on X on 2 September 2026, shows Kyei thanking Stonebwoy for the support that made his first car a reality.
