Ghanaian pop star Joseph Akinwale Akinfenwa‑Donus, better known as Joeboy, revealed in a recent interview that he would like to marry in his twenties and have teenage children in his forties.
Speaking to British media personality Madame Joyce, the 29‑year‑old said the idea of early marriage was inspired by a conversation with Nollywood actor Timini Egbuson, who admitted he wished he had married sooner despite his reputation as a playboy.
Joeboy added that while he would love to tie the knot early, he would keep the ceremony private, noting that the public would only learn of his marital status once he has three or more children.
"If you’re a playboy and you can say this, that means marrying early might actually be nice," he told Madame Joyce. "Being 40 and having a 16‑year‑old kid is cute. But marriage is not really about whenever it feels cool. If it just feels right to you and you love the person, do it."
He concluded, "Personally, I would rather get married early. But if I get married right now, nobody is going to know. Maybe when I have like three kids, people will now find out that Joeboy has a whole family somewhere."
