Ghana Medical Relief (GMR) logged 12,172 patient service touchpoints during its five‑day free medical mission in the Ho West Constituency, a figure that reflects the variety of care received by patients across multiple specialties. The mission, held from July 27 to 31 in Tsito Awudome and Dzolo Gborgame, drew over 8,000 people who registered for care.
Patients could receive consultations in several fields in a single visit – for example, urology, eye care and dental services were all available under one roof. GMR offered general medicine, paediatrics, dental care, eye care, obstetrics and gynaecology, urology, mental health, laboratory testing, wound care and pharmacy services, with prescribed medicines provided at no cost.
More than 170 volunteers from Ghana and the diaspora – including about 70 physicians, nurses, pharmacists, dentists and other health professionals – staffed the mission, while non‑medical volunteers assisted with logistics and coordination. The initiative was organised in partnership with Member of Parliament Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah, whose support helped extend the outreach across the constituency.

Eligible residents also received free registration or renewal support under the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), ensuring continued access to healthcare beyond the mission. Since its first annual medical mission in 2018, GMR reports having served over 60,000 people across eight regions of Ghana.
GMR said it will continue its annual medical missions and expand access to healthcare for underserved communities across the country.
