Ghanaian music star Gyakie disclosed her dream collaboration during an interview on Joy Prime’s Changes show. When host Nikki Samonas asked which artist she would love to work with next, Gyakie named Nigerian‑British singer‑songwriter Sade.
“Sade. I’ve gone to the end of the tunnel literally,” Gyakie told the host. She explained that Sade’s lyrics and vocal tone are centred on love, a quality she feels they share. “Her lyrics, and you know most of her songs are love songs that’s what draws me closer to her sound, lyrics, tone. I see my sound in her sound as well and I think we’ll really sound good if it ever happens,” she added.
Helen Folasade Adu, known professionally as Sade, is one of the most successful British female artists in history, famed for hits such as “Smooth Operator,” “Your Love Is King,” and “By Your Side.” Gyakie, the Songbird, rose to prominence with her 2019 debut single “Love Is Pretty” and the 2020 hit “Forever,” which topped charts in Ghana, Kenya and Nigeria. She recently released the single “Your Body,” already drawing public attention.
Gyakie’s statement has sparked excitement among fans who hope the two artists may one day collaborate, blending their shared love‑centric styles.
