GPRTU, GRTCC Ask Ministry to Review Public Transport Fares

The Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) and the Ghana Road Transport Coordinating Council (GRTCC) have jointly submitted a formal request to the Ministry of Transport for a review of public transport fares. The request was filed “in line with the Administrative Instrument” that governs fare determination and review.

In a joint statement, the two bodies said the process is part of the established consultative framework for setting fares, taking into account the various inputs that influence the operations of commercial road transport services. They added that engagements with the Ministry would commence soon.
