Ghana Publishing Company Limited (GPCL) has opened an online bookshop that allows citizens to buy Acts of Parliament, the Constitution and other official publications from anywhere in the country. The service, unveiled in Accra on Monday, October 19, 2026, promises to eliminate the need for people to travel to Accra to obtain genuine copies of government documents.
Managing Director Nana Kwasi Boatey, Esq., explained at the launch that the initiative was designed to address the logistical and financial burdens faced by those living outside the capital. He noted that many had to spend more on transport than on the documents themselves, and that the limited physical presence of GPCL across Ghana had opened the door to unauthorised printing and sale of Acts of Parliament.
Customers can now browse GPCL’s website, select the publications they need, place orders and have them delivered to their preferred locations. The online shop covers all items sold at GPCL’s Business Centre, including the Constitution and various Acts of Parliament. Boatey added that the move also responds to public demand for easier access to government publications and that GPCL is working to improve electronic access to its catalog.
The new system is expected to cut both the time and cost involved in obtaining official publications, particularly for people living outside Accra, and is part of GPCL’s broader strategy to leverage technology to improve service delivery across the country.
