On Monday, October 19, 2026, the Ghana Publishing Company Limited (GPCL) launched a Gazette Verification Platform and an E‑Bookshop in Accra, aiming to digitise its services and make authentic government publications more readily available to the public.
Managing Director Nana Kwasi Boatey explained that the verification platform will allow individuals and institutions to confirm the authenticity of gazettes online without needing to visit GPCL offices. The system will also provide public access to published gazette notices and their publication dates, helping to resolve disputes over official records.
The E‑Bookshop enables customers to order copies of Acts of Parliament, the 1992 Constitution and other official publications online for delivery to their chosen locations. Boatey said the service is expected to cut the time and transportation costs that people, especially those outside Accra, currently incur when obtaining official documents.
Boatey warned that printing and selling unauthorised copies of Ghana’s laws is a criminal offence and that GPCL is the sole institution legally authorised to print and sell the country’s laws. He disclosed that several arrests have been made in connection with fake gazettes, with some prosecutions ongoing and others concluded.
