The Government has set a net domestic financing target of GH¢15.38 billion for the fourth quarter of 2026, as it prepares to repurchase bonds issued under the Domestic Debt Exchange Programme (DDEP) that mature in 2027.

The target, detailed in the fourth‑quarter issuance calendar, aligns with projected domestic debt maturities and the remaining net financing needs outlined in the 2026 Mid‑Year Fiscal Policy Review Framework.

Funds will be raised through Treasury bills and medium‑ to long‑term securities, with weekly primary auctions of 91‑, 182‑ and 364‑day Treasury bills and additional issuances to establish benchmark bonds across the yield curve.

The calendar also confirms liability‑management operations that include buybacks of the 2027 DDEP bonds, a move the Treasury says is part of its broader debt‑management strategy and supports the development of Ghana’s domestic capital market.

While the GH¢15.38 billion figure represents net financing, the calendar does not disclose the amount earmarked for the planned bond buybacks. The Treasury reiterated its commitment to transparency, predictability and investor confidence in the domestic securities market.

Market participants can expect the calendar to provide clearer guidance on the Treasury’s issuance schedule and help them make informed investment decisions.
