The Bank of Ghana reports a 51.6% oversubscription on the latest T‑bill auction, with the 91‑day bill topping the bids and interest rates falling across the yield curve.

Government Treasury Bill Auction: Oversubscription Hits 51.6%

The Bank of Ghana announced that the latest treasury bill auction saw an oversubscription of 51.6%, with total bids amounting to GH¢9.93 billion. The government accepted GH¢8.3 billion of those bids.

The 91‑day bill led the auction, receiving GH¢6.2 billion in bids, which represents 62.6% of the total. Accepted bids for the 91‑day bill were GH¢5.8 billion.

The 182‑day bill attracted GH¢1.9 billion in bids, with GH¢1.5 billion accepted, while the 364‑day bill saw GH¢1.7 billion in bids and just over GH¢952 million accepted.

Yield rates fell across the board: the 91‑day bill’s yield dropped 14 basis points to 4.80%, the 182‑day bill’s yield fell to 6.67% from 6.87%, and the 364‑day bill’s yield slid 66 basis points to 10.11%.
