The Ghana Fellowship of Evangelical Students (GHAFES) formally inducted Mrs. Amma Asamoabea Eleblu as its new Board Chairperson on Saturday, 29 August 2026, during a special service at the Legon Interdenominational Church on the University of Ghana campus. The ceremony, attended by nearly 350 students, graduates, staff, ministry partners, church leaders and friends, celebrated the ministry’s six‑decade journey and the historic milestone of a female chair.
Mrs. Eleblu, who was formerly known as Perbi, succeeded Ing. Kwame Kpekpena, whose tenure was honoured during the programme. She has been a long‑time GHAFES officer, having served as Volta Hall President of the University Christian Fellowship, Vice Chairperson of the Board, and currently Vice Chairperson of Advocates for Christ Ghana (A4CG). In addition, she sits on the Steering Committee of COPAC‑GH.
Professionally, she is the Africa Business Resilience Senior Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers, overseeing business resilience across nine African countries and leading PwC Africa’s ISO 22301 recertification programme. She is also Founder and CEO of 97 Bakes, a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, and holds an MBA from Imperial College Business School and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Ghana.
During the induction, Mrs. Eleblu spoke about the importance of faith, leadership and resilience, drawing on her experience in both ministry and business. The event also reflected on God’s faithfulness over six decades of GHAFES’ ministry across 54 campus fellowships in 34 tertiary institutions nationwide.
GHAFES, founded in 1966, is a member movement of the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students (IFES) and operates in more than 190 countries. The 2026 celebrations marked its 60th anniversary, a milestone that coincides with the historic appointment of a woman to the Board Chair position.
Moving forward, Mrs. Eleblu will lead GHAFES as it continues to nurture Christian students and expand its influence on campuses and beyond. The organisation’s next steps will focus on strengthening discipleship programs and enhancing its national and international outreach.
