GEPA Unveils Accra Trade Hub, Friday Market and GEXPO to Boost Local Exports

The Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA) announced today the launch of its Accra Trade Hub and Friday Market, alongside the upcoming Ghana Export and SME Fair (GEXPO), as part of a strategy to widen market access for local enterprises.

Chief Executive Officer Francis Kojo Kwarteng Arthur told Citi FM/Channel One TV that the new initiatives will give businesses a stage to display their products and connect with potential buyers. “So on Friday we are commissioning it (Accra Trade Hub) and on that same Friday we are launching our Friday market. So I think it’s a double dose,” he said.

GEXPO is scheduled to run from November 18 to 22, following the Ghana Investment Forum on November 16 and 17 and the Ghana Club 100 Awards on November 18. Deputy Chief Executive Officer Raymond Rashid Kramer highlighted that the fair will feature a wide range of locally made goods, from textiles and handicrafts to processed foods, shea butter, cocoa butter and oils. “So everything from the handicraft sector, to the textile sector, to you see us with the textiles, you see all the handicrafts, you see us with the processed food, the shea butters, the cocoa butters, the oils, all of that. So it’s basically all around fair, everything made in Ghana,” he said.

These initiatives are part of GEPA’s broader effort to strengthen local businesses, improve competitiveness and create pathways for Ghanaian products to enter international markets.

Stakeholders are watching closely as the Accra Trade Hub and Friday Market open, anticipating increased exposure for Ghanaian exporters and potential growth in trade volumes.
