The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) received 45 military utility vehicles on Friday, Oct. 16, 2026, as part of the government’s ongoing retooling programme aimed at strengthening operational readiness and improving troop mobility.

The new fleet consists of 15 KIA utility vehicles, 15 four‑by‑four vehicles and 15 six‑by‑six Troop Carrying Vehicles (TCVs). The delivery is expected to improve troop transportation, facilitate movement across difficult terrain and enable the Army to respond more swiftly to operational demands.
Prime Minister’s Office officials said the acquisition forms part of a broader effort to modernise the Ghana Armed Forces, strengthen national security and enhance the country’s capacity to protect its territorial integrity.

Soldiers will begin integrating the vehicles into training and operational exercises in the coming weeks, with the aim of increasing the Army’s rapid deployment capabilities across the country.
