Fanaka International University College and the Ghana Investment and Securities Institute (GISI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to integrate professional capital market training into Fanaka’s Master of Science in Finance programme. The move is intended to close the gap between academic learning and industry practice, equipping students with the qualifications needed to pursue careers in securities and investment.

Rector Professor Samuel Agyei‑Ampomah noted that the collaboration will enhance students’ knowledge of finance and investment. “The financial curriculum landscape is shifting rapidly, and with GISI’s leadership and continuous professional development, students and faculty will have direct access to cutting‑edge insights on modern asset classes, corporate governance and digital financial frameworks,” he said at the signing ceremony.

Chief Executive Officer Alexander Williams of GISI added that the agreement would promote curriculum benchmarking, professional development and closer engagement between academia and industry. The partnership is expected to strengthen professional standards, build capacity within Ghana’s capital market and create a pipeline of skilled professionals ready for roles in securities trading, investment management and other financial services.

Both parties see the MoU as part of wider efforts to ensure graduates possess market‑relevant knowledge, thereby supporting investment activities, improving market participation and contributing to the growth of Ghana’s financial sector.
