Family Tragedy: Four Killed in Early‑Morning Fire at Apemanim

At about 2 a.m. on Thursday, October 1, a house in Apemanim Number Two, Ahanta West Municipality, Western Region, was engulfed in flames that quickly spread through the building. The fire trapped the occupants inside, preventing any successful rescue attempts by witnesses and neighbours.

All four occupants—Kwesi, 23, his wife Maa Abena, a four‑year‑old child and a three‑week‑old baby—were found dead in the inferno. The remains have been taken to a mortuary while investigators work to determine how the fire started.

Eyewitnesses reported that residents tried to extinguish the blaze and rescue the family, but the rapid spread of the fire made such efforts futile. The cause of the fire remains unknown as authorities continue their inquiry.

Residents and local officials are mourning the loss of the family, and the community is calling for improved fire safety measures in the area.
