On Tuesday, October 6, residents of Community 25 in Gbetsile stormed the Ghana Water Limited (GWL) office to demand answers over a two‑month water shortage that has left many parts of the community without regular taps.
Community members say dry taps have forced them to seek alternative water sources, many of which come at a high cost, disrupting daily life for students, businesses and workers alike.
Prosper Segbey, a member of the Community 25 Residents Association, told reporters the crisis has affected all sectors of the community and appealed to the government and relevant authorities to intervene.
Chairman Van‑Gogh Bagnaba urged residents to remain calm while the association works with GWL to restore a regular supply.
The next step will see the association continue dialogue with GWL and local authorities to secure a permanent solution to the water crisis.
