The Chamber of Oil Marketing Companies (COMAC) has supplied fuel and cash to assist the ongoing evacuation of waste from the Agbogbloshie landfill to the Adepa Waste Engineered Landfill Site.
A delegation led by COMAC Chief Executive Officer Dr Riverson Oppong presented the support, including fuel coupons and contributions from oil marketing companies, to the Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs.
The Chamber said the contributions reflect the industry’s commitment to the nationwide sanitation exercise and efforts to ensure the effective evacuation of waste from the site.
Donations include 500 litres of diesel from CAB Energy, diesel worth GH¢20,000 from Petrosol Platinum, GH¢50,000 from JP Trustees and fuel coupons worth GH¢100,000 from Rash Oil. A further diesel contribution worth GH¢12,000 was also announced, although the donor’s name requires confirmation.
Dr Oppong said the companies were supporting the exercise because of its importance to the country and pledged to continue providing updates on their contributions.
He added that the Chamber would also communicate the donations through official letters to enable the Ministry to share information on the support received.
