On Saturday, the Member of Parliament for Bekwai, Ralph Poku‑Adusei, presented 100 bags of cement and GH¢5,000 to support the building of an ultramodern palace at Ankaase in the Ashanti Region. The donation coincided with the fifth anniversary of the enstoolment of the area’s Queen Mother, Nana Adomako‑Ansa I.
The ceremony gathered traditional leaders, community members, teachers, students and other guests. In a goodwill message, Mr Poku‑Adusei praised Nana Adomako‑Ansa I as a fatherly and principled leader whose three decades of service have propelled Ankaase’s development.
He recalled first meeting the chief while serving as a registrar at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology during his undergraduate years. He highlighted the chief’s role in improving electricity supply, water provision, educational infrastructure, town planning and community facilities, including the establishment of a Junior High School and a computer laboratory, which the MP said he helped complete.
Mr Poku‑Adusei said his contribution was intended to support Nana Adomako‑Ansa I’s vision of leaving a lasting legacy for the people of Ankaase. He urged traditional leaders to continue collaborating with him as he pursues a vision of making the Bekwai Constituency self‑sufficient.
The MP congratulated both Nana Adomako‑Ansa I and the Queen Mother on their respective anniversaries, recognising their contributions to traditional leadership and community development.
