Bekwai MP Ralph Poku‑Adusei Acquires Two Pickups for Constituency Office

Ralph Poku‑Adusei, the Member of Parliament for Bekwai, took delivery of two new pickup vehicles today, a move he says will strengthen his constituency office’s operational capacity and improve engagement with residents.

The pickups are intended to support the MP’s local team, particularly when he is in Accra attending parliamentary sittings, committee meetings and engagements with government institutions. Poku‑Adusei said the acquisition was part of his commitment to making the office more accessible and responsive to the needs of the people.

In a statement accompanying the unveiling, he said,

“These pickups will facilitate dedicated work and ensure that my office is never distant from the people who gave me the mandate.”

He added that the vehicles would allow constituents to communicate their concerns more readily, enabling issues that require local action, parliamentary advocacy or ministerial intervention to be identified and addressed quickly.

Poku‑Adusei reaffirmed his pledge to represent all constituents, irrespective of political affiliation, religion or ethnicity. “My role as a Member of Parliament is to represent the people of Bekwai without recourse to political, religious, or ethnic considerations. I was elected to serve all,” he said.

The pickup acquisition is part of a broader set of initiatives aimed at improving access to information, supporting livelihoods and advancing development in the constituency. Among these is the establishment of Amansie FM in Bekwai, which provides a platform for public education and information dissemination. Government institutions, security services, hospitals and the education and health directorates have been allocated free airtime to inform residents about their activities and programmes.

The MP has also introduced a micro‑credit scheme to support local economic activity, with particular attention to women petty traders. He said the two pickups would help him balance parliamentary responsibilities with engagements in Bekwai while keeping his office operationally strong.

Looking ahead, Poku‑Adusei says his broader development vision is to make the constituency increasingly self‑sufficient while ensuring that his representation remains accessible and responsive to residents’ needs.
