In a Facebook post on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, Annan Arhin Perry, Personal Assistant to the CEO of the Ghana Gold Board, endorsed Basiera Saankara as the next National Democratic Congress National Youth Organiser, following the departure of George Opare Addo, popularly known as Pablo.
Perry highlighted Saankara’s extensive party record, noting his current role as Upper West Regional Youth Organiser since 2022, his previous tenure as Deputy Regional Organiser from 2018 to 2022, and his service as Wa West Constituency Youth Organiser from 2009 to 2018, before holding the position of Constituency Deputy Organiser from 2006 to 2009.
“BASIERA SAANKARA has the political experience to succeed Pablo,” Perry wrote. He added that Saankara’s experience at constituency and regional levels demonstrates his grasp of the party’s grassroots structures and youth mobilisation, describing him as a committed grassroots politician and mobiliser who “doesn’t need to be pushed because he is the pusher.”
The endorsement comes as the NDC prepares for the upcoming national leadership transition, with Saankara’s potential appointment expected to bring continuity to the party’s youth wing.
