Veteran highlife musician Barosky has said he would return to Ghana if the necessary arrangements are made, after a visit by Ghana’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Sabah Zita Benson, in Manchester.
The visit followed distressing footage of the musician circulating on social media, which raised concerns among Ghanaians about his welfare. The High Commissioner said the Ghana High Commission acted swiftly after receiving reports about Barosky’s situation and directed its consular office to engage him.
Benson travelled to Manchester to meet the musician and members of the local Ghanaian community to explore ways of supporting him. She described Barosky as a respected figure in Ghana’s music industry and called for collective efforts to help him regain stability.
“Barosky has contributed immensely to Ghanaian music, and we all need to come together as a community to help him get back on his feet,” she said. She added that the High Commission was prepared to assist Barosky should he decide to return to Ghana.
Barosky expressed gratitude for the visit and support and indicated that he would be willing to return home if the necessary arrangements could be made.
