The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that veteran high‑life musician Barosky has been safely brought back to Ghana following footage of him in Manchester that sparked worry among Ghanaians.

Ghana’s High Commissioner to the UK, Sabah Zita Benson, visited Barosky in Manchester after the videos went viral. During the visit, the artist expressed his willingness to return to Ghana.

On Tuesday, September 8, Minister for Foreign Affairs Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa posted on Facebook that the repatriation had been completed and that the ministry had fully funded the operation as part of its consular duties.

He added that the government is now providing Barosky with psychosocial support and financial assistance to aid his reintegration into society.

Minister Ablakwa thanked the public, especially broadcaster Nana Romeo, for drawing attention to the situation, and praised the High Commission in the UK for coordinating the repatriation.

Barosky’s return is expected to allow him to resume his musical career and contribute to Ghana’s cultural scene.
