Baaba Hammond, the Country Manager for Bolt for Business in Ghana, was honoured in the Transport & Logistics category of the Forty Under 40 Awards for her leadership in corporate mobility and her contribution to the country’s expanding digital transport sector.
The awards celebrate Ghana’s most influential young business professionals under forty across a range of industries, highlighting those who have advanced quickly in their fields through dedication to business success, professional excellence and community involvement.
Hammond’s inclusion underscores an eight‑year trajectory with Bolt, which began in 2018 when she joined the company—then known as Taxify— as a Customer Support Representative. She subsequently moved into sales and business development, holding roles such as Business Development Manager, Senior Business Development Manager and Interim Country Manager before becoming Country Manager for Bolt for Business Ghana in 2025.
Speaking on the honour, she said, “I am honoured to be recognised alongside individuals who are contributing to meaningful change in Ghana. This recognition reflects the collective effort of the teams and partners we work with every day to improve mobility, create opportunities and support inclusive growth.”
Hammond’s experience across customer support, commercial operations and business development has given her a broad perspective on Ghana’s mobility sector, from interacting with passengers and drivers to helping businesses manage their transportation needs.
She added, “I started at Bolt speaking directly with passengers and drivers every day, and that experience has stayed with me throughout my career. Moving from customer support into sales, business development and eventually country leadership has allowed me to understand the business from very different perspectives. I hope that journey can also encourage other young professionals, particularly women, to see that where you begin does not determine how far you can go.”
A University of Ghana graduate, Hammond began her career with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), completing her national service and later working as a Marketing Support Executive. She mentors young professionals, especially women, pursuing careers in business, technology and leadership.
As Country Manager, Hammond works with companies to design mobility solutions for employee transportation, meetings, airport transfers and other work‑related journeys, while nurturing corporate client relationships and driving the growth of Bolt’s business mobility offering in Ghana.
The award comes as Bolt for Business expands its presence in Ghana’s corporate mobility market, partnering with organisations seeking more convenient and structured ways to manage employee movement.
