The Ghana Football Association has confirmed that former international Anthony Baffoe has withdrawn from the five‑member committee tasked with finding a new Black Stars coach.
Baffoe was appointed to the panel alongside former captain Stephen Appiah, lawyer Agbesi Dzakpasu and high‑performance specialist Faisal Chibsah. The committee is chaired by Fred Pappoe.
GFA Communications Director Henry Asante Twum said Baffoe’s resignation was announced to the Executive Council after the committee’s last meeting on Thursday, with no reason given.
Following Baffoe’s exit, the remaining four members selected Black Queens coach Kim Lars Björkegren as head coach, with Ibrahim Tanko and Godwin Attram as his temporary assistants.
Ghana will face Somalia on 11 November before playing the return leg four days later.
When asked about a possible bid for the GFA presidency, Baffoe, the General Secretary of the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana, replied, “you never know tomorrow.”
