A 15‑year‑old student of Ada Senior High Technical School (ASTECH), Monde Konedu Agyemang, died after collapsing during a sporting activity organised as part of the school’s Girls’ Education Week celebration.
The incident occurred on Thursday, October 15, 2026, which coincided with her 15th birthday. She was rushed to Sege Polyclinic but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Ada West District Director of Education, Dr Stephen Arthur, said the cause of death had not yet been established, adding that arrangements were underway for an autopsy to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
He disclosed that Monde had enrolled at the school about three weeks before her death and had no known medical condition declared on her admission form.
Her body has since been transferred to General Hospital as police investigations continue to establish the cause of death.
