THE YEAR OF RETURN – BSIFF 19
Black Star International Film Festival (BSIFF) is an initiative of the Black Star International Film Institute; a not for profit organization. Every year, it engages filmmakers, film lovers and industry stakeholders worldwide with scheduled activities within Accra.
The festival is in its fourth year this year and always attracts several great film submissions of various genres and from numerous talented filmmakers of diverse cultures and countries across the world.
With focus on the business of film, BSIFF aims to bridge the gap between African cinema and the world and also create global connections through film. It is at the forefront of the push to make Ghana a Co-production Hub and a tourism destination.
Though its primary focus is on film, the festival incorporates and promotes other areas of art, such as music.
The Black Star International Film Festival has positioned itself as a platform for advocacy, knowledge sharing, networking, entertainment and more with its various exciting activities including panel sessions, film screenings, music concerts etc, that create the environment for filmmakers, film lovers, broadcasters, distributors, investors etc to learn, have fun and do business each year.
This year’s edition starts from 20th to 26th August under the theme “Connecting Cultures through film” and runs as an official Year of Return 2019 event.
