Roads Will Be Constructed Soon -Member of Parlament of Suame

Member of Parliament of Suame,Hon. Osei Kyei- Mensah Bonsu has said that the Suame-Maakro Road will be reconstructed soon.

According to him, the contractor will resume work after having a bad experience with agitated artisans while addressing their concerns.

The majority leader of Suame Constituency said ” last week, here at Suame Magazine, there was a majority demonstration which was about the reconstruction of the main high way”

“The road has several potholes and it is causing accidents and because of that, the Minister of Roads and Highways has awarded a contract to a contractor to reconstruct the road” he added.

Mr. Osei Kyei- Mensah Bonsu’s arrangement to listen to the concerns of his constituents and talk to them was unsuccessful as planned. Angry partisans chanted war songs to meet him as they threw sachets of water and other items at the officials.

While speaking to the press, the Member of Parliament said he is not worried about the behavior of his constituents.

” I am the face of government so if they are really angry that it’s been a while since the scrapping of the road and the dust is killing them, certainly when they see any government official, they will pour their anger on the person so I’m not worried.” he said.

The Asanti Regional Police Commander, COP Afful Boakye-Yiadom arrived at the scene to calm the angry constituents who followed the MP and his team to the meeting place. This help the Suame Divisional Police Command Officials.
