WHY THE GHANAIAN MOVIE INDUSTRY IS FADING OUT!!!- SELORM AMEZA

The Ghanaian Movie industry is slowly fading out because of lack of appreciation and respect for Creative Writers. Than has awesome writers but then no value is placed on the Ghanaian writer in the movie circle. Creative writing is a gift given to few and this few must be encouraged to see opportunities in Writing scripts for movies.
Just as without salt your food might smell all good but would remain tasteless, so is a great storyline in film making. The storyline is the key ingredient in making a movie but very little attention is given to it in Ghana.
The key figures in making a Movie is the #Producer #Director #Actors and #Writers. The Producer is always well recognized since he comes with the investment and so is the Actors who bring the story alive and the Director who directs both actors and crew on set to bring out their best. And the other Crews like the Camera Crew as well as Costumiers are all well appreciated except the Writer.
The job of the Writer in Ghana is always for the Director and that is why our movies only tow similar story patterns.
If I should humbly ask people to mention 3 popular Ghanaian Movie Writers who are just Writers and not Directors, It would be a tough call. Not a Single Movie writer makes enough money or even has the chance to be given due credits in movies. Every Director wants to put together their own story instead of looking out for an awesome writer.
And Writing unlike Directing, Production and even Acting is a natural gift to all Writers so writing a good story isn’t based on your PhD, it is based on Creative imagination.
I have seen a lot of Directors doing a lot of good works and getting a lot of praise. But listen attentively to the praises and people are praising their efforts of making nice picture motions but nobody truly says how awesome the storyline is. We all just support our own so people get hope to keep moving but then the storylines aren’t unique and something to keep people in suspense when watching.
So the Directors in the Ghanaian Movie Industry must stop attempting to do the Writers work and allow Creative people to put their imaginations to work and be well paid for their stories without any fool asking Writers to get a side job.
And Writers should not try to do the job of a Director or else the outcome of an interesting story would only be half baked since Writers can write about Characters but Directors know how best to put Actors into Character on set as well as control the Camera crew to produce perfect picture shots.
Unless Producers and Directors start paying good prices for stories and engaging Creative writers on a full scale, we would see movie making decline to 0 cos all the storylines either suck or are nothing new to scream about.
